meet linus.

chloee and i finally
got our macbooks tonight!
i am so excited.
i named mine linus
and hers is melinda.
we named them
because they are our babies.
no joke, i feel like we got
the deal of the century.
not only did we each get a
free ipod touch and printer,
the guy at the store told us
we are now part of the mac family!

it's the most wonderful time of the year

school starts tomorrow
and i can't wait.
school supply shopping
makes me happier than my birthday does.
in fact,
i smile at just the thought of it.
 ---
i am to school supplies
as a hummingbird is to sugar water.

la tee dah

 it is completely
out of character
for me to use this word,
but this weekend was
fabulous.
if you could look up
"best in the history of the world"
in the dictionary,
you would most definitely
find a picture of mes amis
{a.k.a. my friends}.

taylor swift's new single

i'd be lying
if i said i loved this song
from the get-go.
i didn't.
but it has most definitely grown on me,
and now i'd be lying
if i said i wasn't obsessed.
our girl taylor
never ceases to amaze.

a word from the wise

"I don't worry too much about the future,
and I don't worry too much about the past.
The past is gone, and you can't change, can't correct it.
The future, you can anticipate it,
but you can't necessarily do very much about it.
It is the present you have to deal with.
Reach out for every good opportunity
to do what you ought to do."
-President Gordon B. Hinkley

i love the rain until the worms crawl out.

 unlike most people,
 the sound of
nails on a chalkboard
never makes my skin crawl.
stepping on worms
makes my skin crawl.

go bananas.

today at work
a woman came through my line
and bought some bananas.
when i asked if she wanted them in a bag
her eyes opened wide and she smiled.
"why no, i don't need a bag,
i guess i can take them just like that!
yes, i will take them just like that."

it isn't uncommon
that customers go without a bag,
but this woman acted like it was the most
liberating thing
she'd done in awhile,
and it really made my day.
